Can you run a locker business remotely?
A locker business can be managed partly remotely when its software supports the workflow and someone is responsible for physical servicing. You can handle bookings, customer communication and reporting online, but items still need transporting, checking, replenishing or repairing.
What belongs behind the laptop
Launch Lockers software supports bookings, payments through a connected Stripe gateway, access codes, notifications and reporting. It can connect to a resident app, including a white-label app under your own brand, or operate standalone drop-off and collection through a self-serve kiosk. Agree the configuration and integrations for your service before promising a specific customer journey.
What needs someone on site
Laundry needs collection and return. Rental equipment needs inspection. Doors and controls need maintenance. A customer may deposit the wrong item or return equipment damaged. Establish a named local contact, service windows and a backup arrangement.
Design for exceptions
Ask what happens if connectivity fails, a customer misses collection or a compartment will not open. Define who responds, how access is restored and what evidence is recorded. Keep customer access separate from operator permissions.
A founder can coordinate this work through partners rather than doing every task personally. That changes the job from constant handovers to sales, scheduling and service management; it does not remove the work or its cost.
Next step: Map your proposed service into online tasks and local tasks before choosing equipment.
