Lockers for football clubs: nets, balls and kits on demand
Grassroots football relies on volunteers chasing a key holder to collect balls, nets, bibs and kits. A locker service at the clubhouse or pitch lets each coach collect their team's equipment with a code and return it after the session.
The problem to solve
Equipment is shared between many teams and age groups, sessions run in evenings and weekends, and the person with the key is often not there. Lost kit and missing balls cost clubs money every season.
How the service could work
Each team or coach gets access to a compartment or a bookable kit bag. Returns are logged against the booking so the club can see who had what. Kits can be dropped back for washing and collected clean by the next team, adding a laundry line.
Who pays
The club, the pitch provider or the local council facility could pay a monthly service fee; kit washing can be charged per bag. Agree who replaces lost items.
Next step: Ask one club secretary how equipment is handed over today.
