Start a locker business in United Arab Emirates
The UAE combines high-rise living, a large expatriate workforce, heavy tourism and a strong push towards digital government. Residents expect to order and collect at any hour, which makes self-service lockers a natural fit.
Where demand comes from
- Parcel and grocery deliveries to towers and communities
- Hotels, holiday homes and short-stay apartments needing luggage and key handovers
- Office districts and free zones with long working days
- Laundry and dry cleaning drop-off for busy households
Setting up the business
Choose between a mainland licence (issued by each emirate's economic department, such as Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism or Abu Dhabi's Department of Economic Development) or a free-zone licence. Activities and where you may trade differ, so confirm the right activity before signing site agreements. This is general information, not legal advice; confirm requirements with the relevant authority.
Taking payments
Stripe can be connected where it supports your business country; check current availability. Where it does not, ask us about connecting a local payment provider through the API.
Climate and hardware
Summer heat, direct sun and dust are the main hardware risks. Indoor lobbies, car parks and shaded areas are simpler; outdoor units need heat-rated electronics and sun protection.
